You must have TWO (2) references listed. (1) One letter submitted from an administrator in your school district. (2) The 2nd letter should be submitted by someone who has knowledge of your qualifications to participate in SSTP. Note: If you are a member of a PDO group, another organized group related to PCMI, or a teacher in the PD3 project, the 2nd letter should be submitted by your PDO/PD3 group’s university faculty leader.
-
RETURNING applicants to PCMI:
- You must have ONE (1) reference listed. If you are a member of a PDO group or a teacher in the PD3 project, the letter should be submitted by your university faculty leader. Otherwise, it should be submitted by a school administrator.
- In the area for a second reference on your application, please enter the following exactly as it appears here: “Returning applicant or PD3” for the Name and “SecondReference@for.pcmi” for the Email. This second reference field is required on the form; otherwise your application is incomplete.
You may log into your application account at any time to see if your letter(s) of recommendation have been received, and we recommend that you do so in order to be sure your portfolio is complete by the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the selection committee.
-
Math for America Fellows* who have been nominated for participation by the Math for America organization:
- Provide your Curriculum Vitae/Resumé (REQUIRED): All applicants must upload their CV (resumé) to their online application in order for the portfolio to be complete.
Your application portfolio should consist of the following by January 31, 2012 deadline:
- your completed application form (both cover sheet and program application),
- your uploaded CV, and
- the names and email addresses of your reference letter writer(s)
- the reference letter(s).
Your application status will remain “incomplete” until the above four items are satisfied. (THOSE applicants WHO NEED ONE OR NO LETTER OF REFERENCE should ignore any messages the system might generate about a missing reference.)
YOU’RE READY TO APPLY TO THE PROGRAM …
Important: MathPrograms.org keeps applicants’ account and portfolios for 12 months after their last login. If you applied to PCMI last year, you are likely not a “NEW” applicant.
NEW applicants without a current MathPrograms account: (Note: Skip to the next section if you are new to PCMI but have already submitted a MathPrograms cover sheet.)
- Do not apply before reading the information & requirements above.
- Be sure to have the names and email address(es) of your reference(s) ready to input in the cover sheet of the application.
- Then CLICK HERE to begin your application process.
Applicants with a current MathPrograms account (i.e. you applied to PCMI last year, or you have already filled out the online cover sheet this year and are ready to continue with the program application and portfolio):
- CLICK HERE to login to your existing account at MathPrograms, using the login credentials you received by email (either this year or last). Below the Login section header, click on the link “… as Program Applicant.”
- If you applied to PCMI last year and find that your account from last year has expired, follow the instructions in the section above for NEW applicants.
We recommend that you log in to your application account periodically until you are sure that the entire portfolio is complete (application form, CV, references, etc.). You may wish to bookmark the login page for that reason.
Troubleshooting:
Questions about the application procedure will more than likely be answered in the USER DOCUMENTATION. Or you may also EMAIL US with your questions.
If you successfully submitted an application but did not receive an email with login credentials for your account, this is likely due to either -
- your email address was entered incorrectly on the cover sheet, thus misdirecting the response email message, or
- your email server sent mistakenly handled the email as spam (check your spam folder!) Click here to email PCMI to check on your account if you do not find the mathprograms.org response message in your spam folder.
