Application Fact Sheet
Guidelines and Information
Deadline for submission of applications is January 20, 2008. Supplemental materials must be received in the PCMI office by January 27, 2008. Please plan accordingly. (Late
applications may be accepted at the discretion of the organizers.) Response
may be expected in early April. All teachers interested in participating
in the Summer Session, including those who have participated in the past
must apply for admission. For hard-copy applications, please contact
the IAS/Park City Mathematics Institute.
Be sure to read the guidelines and requirements before accessing and
completing the online application. Incomplete application packages cannot
be forwarded to the selection committee.
Financial support is available. Applicants are invited to request financial
support by checking the appropriate boxes on the application form.
In addition to the SSTP for teachers, there is a one-week program for mathematics supervisors and specialists. Follow the links for Mathematics Supervisors or Professional Development Outreach Facilitators program for more information about these programs, and for Designing Professional Development Program application procedures.
Application Procedure
Please Note: If you are a teacher participating
in the PCMI PD3 project in Las Cruces,
McAllen, or Seattle, the requirements are somewhat different from
other
teachers. Please note the instructions in Items 2 and 3 below.
- Complete
the online application form: The application is
submitted from this web site. Supplemental information may
be uploaded during the application process, submitted via e-mail, fax, or regular postal or express
service. See contact information for details. A follow-up
phone call or email to confirm receipt is recommended.
- Provide Letters of Recommendation: Returning
teachers and PD3 teachers should submit one letter. New
teachers who are not PD3 teachers should submit two letters. Please see the
application form for details as what letters to send and from
whom. We encourage you to upload letter(s) of recommendation during the online, application process. They also may be submitted via email directly from the person
writing the recommendation, or by regular postal or express service,
or by fax no later than January 27, 2008. A follow-up phone call or email to confirm receipt
is recommended.
- Provide your Curriculum Vitae/Resume: A
CV or resume is required of new teachers, except for PD3 teachers. It
is not required for returning teachers. We encourage you to upload CVs during the online application process. They may also be submitted via regular postal or express service no later than January 27, 2008. Your CV
may be faxed or emailed if
it is no more than 2 pages in length.

Notes
* Formats supported for email attachments: Portable Document format
(.pdf), Text (.txt), Rich Text Format (.rtf), or Microsoft Word format (.doc). Please note that TeX files cannot be printed
by the PCMI office. TeX files should be converted to .pdf files before
transmission.
