International Seminar on Mathematics Education

Bridging Policy & Practice

Due to its limited size and highly structured agenda, participation in the International Seminar is by invitation.

Organizers: Johnny Lott, University of Mississippi, and Gail Burrill, Michigan State University

The International Seminar on Mathematics Education at PCMI has been in existence since 2001. The intent of the seminar is to foster conversation among different nations about the teaching of mathematics. Participation is by invitation only.

This seminar serves also as a resource for PCMI Summer Session participants to interact with outstanding professionals from around the world who study the teaching and learning of mathematics.

The twelfth International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME 12) will be held in Seoul Korea from July 8-15, 2012.  Rather than holding an International Seminar in Park City during the summer of 2012,  all  past Park City Math Institute International Seminar participants who are in attendance at ICME 12 are invited to a PCMI sharing session and informal get together. Details regarding those sessions will be sent in the spring of 2012.

Information about previous seminars can be found on the Math Forum website at:
